I’m a breast cancer survivor and writer living in Nebraska with my husband Bruce. My day job is media relations and I read and write poetry to feed my head. I love Nebraska Cornhusker football, baseball and volleyball and light bulb jokes. I’m a proud native of Minot, N.D.

I developed a passion for breast cancer issues after getting up close and personal with it. I wrote a book about my experience with DCIS called From Zero to Mastectomy: What I Learned and You Need to Know About Stage 0 Breast Cancer, which was named one of the Best Consumer Health Books of 2010 by Library Journal.
