I’m a writer living in Nebraska with my husband Bruce and two great rescue cats. My day job is media relations and I read and write poetry to feed my head. I have a bachelor’s in journalism from the University of Nebraska and later studied poetry at the University of Nebraska MFA in writing program. I love Husker sports, music, wine and food and I’m a recovering Twitter addict (@jackiefox12).
I started this blog after I wrote a book about my experience with ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS) because I had never heard of it until I was diagnosed with it and figured others hadn’t either. It’s called From Zero to Mastectomy: What I Learned and You Need to Know About Stage 0 Breast Cancer, which was named one of the Best Consumer Health Books of 2010 by Library Journal. It’s still available as an e-book through Amazon.
